Last year: 4th place. The Sharks put their faith in youth last year and the inexperience told; despite some brave performances they were let down by errors at crucial moments.
Players to watch: Jaebets Jean has grown into his role in the front row and is an accomplished ball carrier and defender. Flanked by the powerful duo of Callis Jones and captain Sean O’Neill, the Sharks have a forward pack to fear. Andrew Seymour is perhaps the most rapidly improving player in the TCI and his dazzling footwork behind a big, strong pack will threaten any team. Liam O’Sullivan will pull the strings in the backline.
New additions: Jaebets Jean (North Caicos Ospreys), Dan Redmond (Miller Simons O’Sullivan TCI Police), Liam O’Sullivan (Ireland), Lynden Hall (debutant)
Losses: Joe Ryan (unavailable)
Prospects: Those inexperienced players of last season are now a year older, and several have since represented the TCI at Under 19 level. If their powerful forwards stay healthy throughout the tournament this South Caicos side will rattle some cages. Not outrageous to think they could go from last place in 2012 to champions in 2013.
